Supporting notable artists including Noel Gallagher, Circa Waves and Spring King is something that countless bands dream of- however, after forming just one year ago, Liverpool quintet- LYING BSTRDS managed to achieve this through hard work and raw talent.
Not only this, but their capabilities have already been noticed after being hailed as “Liverpool’s most dangerous band” from the Liverpool Echo along with gaining support from the likes of BBC6 Music and BBC Introducing. With more people falling for their catchy rock and pop combination, they’ve been constantly gaining new fans, which explains their recent nineteen (yes nineteen!) tour dates across Japan this year.

Their latest single, Youth and Old Age is undeniably catchy from start to finish. Melodic reverbed vocals from Henry Pulp give a John Newman feel, which creates an interesting element in a rock piece- resulting in a Foals-esque sound. Throughout the dance-worthy chorus, the distinct layering of keys is reminiscent of Blossoms and Primal Scream. The piece is an unapologetic, riff-infused, energetic creation. There’s one thing you must be warned about… after listening, you’ll be left singing this song all day!
