With a ying/yang of gentle grooves and intensely raucous blasts of energy, Little Fish have worked their way up the support slot ladder with acts such as Eagles Of Death Metal, Hole, Spinarette and Them Crooked Vultures. Having paid their dues, the twosome now find themselves as the sole UK support for the iconic Blondie.
The oxford duo’s frontwoman JuJu expressed her delight at the opportunity:
“Touring with the iconic and legendary innovative band of the New Wave New York Punk scene is a complete privilege. If there were ever some songs we wished we had written, it would be some of theirs. Nothing like dancing to ‘One Way Or Another’ or ‘Hanging On The Telephone’. The tour itself is going to be a hoot! Bang bang bang! Rock n roll is what we signed up for…” – JuJu
Concurrently the new single from the oxfordshire pair Am I Crazy is due out 14th June through Custard/Island Records.
JuJu describes the meaning of the new single: “The song is an emotional expression of the pain you can go through when falling in love with someone – hence the ‘Am I Crazy? line,”
She then elaborates: “This refers to the fact that the person singing the song thinks that they are insane to be in love hence the main chorus being “I didn’t plan to fall in love with you!”… The song is a cry for help – it is screaming, help me! I’m falling in love with, you are driving me crazy, I can’t sleep at night (restless and pacing)… and all you do is ‘arrive late’. Ultimately, the person singing the song wishes that they had never fallen in love in the first place. This is a song about the torture of love, and not about being crazy.”
Little Fish’s first (Linda Perry-produced) album is set to drop in October 2010
