Krystle Warren will be appearing alongside Green Gartside, Lisa Hannigan, Teddy Thompson, Robyn Hitchcock, Scott Matthews and Vashti Bunyan in Way To Blue: The Songs of Nick Drake tour in January 2010.
Nick Drake’s obscurity during his lifetime now seems in inverse proportion to his influence and fame today. Only after his death, age 26, in 1975, did his music begin to reach a substantial audience.
This concert, curated by Drake’s original producer Joe Boyd, brings together renowned contemporary singers interpreting Nick’s songs on ‘Way To Blue’ with many of the string arrangements from Drake’s songs and a band led by Kate St John and anchored by bassist Danny Thompson, who played on many of Drake’s recordings.
