Kalandra are a new alternative folk band on the scene and with their flamboyant on stage presence, combined with their beautifully composed tracks, they are compared to Kate Bush and to the influence that she made on the genre at the height of her career.

With their lyrics being created by vocalist Katrine Stenbekk, she draws most of her inspiration from Norse and Celtic folk songs, giving their music a raw and natural energy.

Their first single, ‘Not Some Fairytale’ was released earlier this year, receiving a lot of praise from fans.

The video for the song was equally as beautiful. Filmed in Norway, it had a enchanting yet sinister feel that left fans wanting more.

After their large success, they are returning with a double A side and some exciting live performances.

The band already has a huge following, taken in by their enchanting sound.

Kalandra are: Andreas Voie Juliebø – Drums, Hamish Gore – Bass, Jogeir Mæland – Guitar, Florian Winter – Guitar, Helen Morrisson – Piano and vocals and Katrine Stenbekk – Vocals.
