James Blake returns from his sold out debut tour of the US to embark on his first fully-fledged UK outing in June.

Blakes’ reception Stateside has been nothing short of incredible, pulling in the glitterati from the Hollywood Hills as well as some of the more elusive and revered names from the boardwalk, including folk legend Joni Mitchell.

Blake deconstructed his eponymous debut in The Troubadour in Los Angeles recently and showed the full spectrum of his genre-hopping sound. It was unsurprisingly a sell-out.

With all the studio polish, the dub-step influences, the haunting minimalist synth and vocal arrangements, Blake’s music is still indebted to the artistry of songwriting.

Something Joni Mitchell can identify with obviously, and she gave her seal of approval sitting up in the upper VIP balcony for the duration of the show.

Blake tilted his hat at one point playing into a Mitchell classic, A Case of You.

The UK tour is surely going to be as impressive, starting with a trek up North to Oran Mor in Glasgow on Thursday 2nd June. The London leg of the tour sees James play Koko on Tuesday 14th June.

The next release for the 22 year old pioneer is the double A-side of a new edit of Lindisfarne/Unluck which combines part I & II from the album & Unluck. It is out on June 20th.
