Harvest Sun Promotions bring Brooklyn NYC’s She Keeps Bees to The Shipping Forecast for what is sure to be a night of adrenaline fuelled mayhem in The Hold.
The duo, consisting of Jessica Larrabee on vocals and guitar and Andy LaPlant on drums formed in 2006.
Harnessing raw blues power and visceral rock n’ roll, the band have won favourable comparisons to Patti Smith, The White Stripes, The Kills and Cat Power.
New album, Dig On has catapulted the band up to a new level and was given the prestigious accolade of Rough Trade Album of the Week on its release back in July.
Live, the duo tore it up at this year’s Green Man Festival, while the intimate cellar of The Hold at The Shipping Forecast will be perfect setting for their thumping drum beats and distorted guitar riffs.
Main support for She Keeps Bees are the excellent Dirtblonde. The Liverpool based duo have gained plaudits with their own brand of feedback-drenched rock n’ roll.
Compared to The Jesus and Mary Chain by none other than former Creation records supremo Alan McGee, Liverpool’s Dirtblonde were a surprise hit at SXSW in Austin Texas.
Also on the bill, PJ Harvey influenced rockers Endeci who recently released free LP Winter Here are well-matched to the powerful headliners.
Completing the set are rising alt. rockers Wet Mouth, who recently turned in a superb set at Milk: Presents supporting The Louche F.C.
