Harvest Sun Promotions Presents… Acoustic Air Raid @ The Bombed Out Church

While many gig promoters take a break over the festival season, Harvest Sun Promotions have bucked the trend and kept the city’s gig goers highly entertained over the summer months.

Bringing the latest in rising new talent and under-the-radar acts, the Harvest Sun boys bring their Acoustic Air Raid event to St. Luke’s (Bombed Out) church on 14th August.

The first event Harvest Sun put on two years ago, the bill brings together the finest in acoustic, cosmic Americana and psych folk to the stunning St. Luke’s Church in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.

Headliners The Springtime Anchorage have fast become Merseyside’s best kept secret. Despite demand, all recordings have being kept close to their chest, and they’ve only played a handful of shows so far.

In what’s sure to be a big year for them, they have releases and UK tour planned for 2012, so catch them here before, the inevitable happens, and you can’t get tickets for their sell out shows next year.

Professor Yaffle are galactic troubadours who an ever-growing collective of friends & musicians on a non-stop journey to the edge of your psyche.

Steering the craft through unchartered territories are Lee Rogers, guitar/vocals and John Edge, guitar/vocals, while Chris Simpson, bass/vocals, Dan Brownrigg, guitar/mandolin Alex McCune, percussion & Olivia Powis, cello ensure cabin pressure is maintained.

Cosmic hitch-hiker Mark ‘Hass’ Doherty’s duties involve warding off negative vibes whilst playing the jews harp.

The City Walls are a rock n roll folk duo that demand attention from anyone who holds music dear. Taking their cue from musical heroes from Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band and Ron Sexsmith,

The band have been drawing comparisons to the likes of modern day acoustic wielders such as Mumford & Sons and The Tallest Man On Earth.

They weave a multi instrumental folk rock sound of acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and violin heavenly harmonies through tunes dripping with rock n roll passion and immediacy.

Early live shows have garnered rave reviews and a following of committed like-minded fans desperate for music of truthful substance, songs to warm the coldest heart and stir the loneliest soul.

The Hummingbirds are a five piece acoustic ensemble, who have been making a splash in the Liverpool music scene for a few months now and are embarking on a UK tour this August to back the upcoming “Talking Of Tomorrow EP” due for release in September.

The band was formed in the late 2010, capturing that classic ‘Liverpool’ sound as well as putting an interesting twist on conventional folk and blues music, bringing it to a more mainstream audience.

Topping off the bill are 86 DJ’s who will be playing the finest laid back psychedelic sunshine grooves before, between and after the bands.

From the acclaimed Purple Radio Station, the 86 DJ’s, are so named they state as because their combined age halved, is exactly that number.
