Harvest Sun present an evening of Americana and folk in the evocative surroundings of the Leaf Café this Thursday (6th October) with a double hit of two of the finest US singer-songwriters at present joint headlining.

After his very successful tour of the UK in the company of Michael Chapman early this year, William Tyler returns to the UK for another brief run of stunning shows.

A double headliner with Hiss Golden Messenger, the latter has been described by David Bowie as ‘mystical country, an eerie yellowing photograph’.

Best known as a long time member of cult US orch-pop group Lambchop, William Tyler is released his excellent album Behold The Spirit on Tompkins Square late last year.

Also a member of the revered Silver Jews, Tyler won over scores of converts on his aforementioned UK tour, the Nashville native’s solo reputation is rapidly catching up with his other ventures.

American Songwriter magazine was in rapture, stating, ‘Behold The Spirit casts a mighty spell’, with reviews from Uncut, Pitchfork, Dusted and many others have been equally ardent in their admiration.

Sharing the headlining slot, Hiss Golden Messenger is the project of Michael C Taylor of North Carolina.

The Harvest Sun lads state Taylor’s wondrous Bad Debt LP has rarely been far from their turntable for the past year.

As well as the full-band recordings he’s issued in recent years, his recent album’s bewitching mix of woozy roots and bare-spirited country folk is just Taylor, voice and guitar in close-up.

The disc has met with a raft of excellent reviews, with even DJ magazine giving it 9/10 for its ‘Beautiful, beguiling songs. Effortless simplicity’

Cavalier Song and Simon Knighton of Kazimier Records complete the bill for what will doubtless be an evening of mesmerising melodic beauty at the Leaf Café.
