With All Hallow’s Eve fast approaching, the scariest bands in town are lining up for a spectacular night of live Halloween music at one of Liverpool’s coolest venues.
Leaf on Bold Street is hosting the horror-themed event on Saturday October 29th, featuring a stellar line-up of spine-tinglingly good song-writing and pulse-raising performances.
Headliners two-piece dance-rock duo I Am Austin memorably appeared at Liverpool Sound City last year 2010 and turned in an excellent set so loud the bar in Mojo literally shook.
The group have played BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and have also won the prestigious Evo Music Rooms competition, beating 3,000 other bands to claim their prize of a live appearance on Channel 4’s Evo Music Rooms show, hosted by Edith Bowman.
Also on the bill, The Lucid Dream draw inspiration from The Jesus and Mary Chain, Suicide, and The Byrds and can count Steve Lamacq as a fan who praised their ‘reverb drenched majesty’.
Liverpool based psych-garage rockers The Wild Eyes meanwhile have been thrilling crowds in the city and beyond with their mesmeric tunes.
Event organiser and also appearing on the night is Dom Newton. Inspired by Son House and Robert Johnson, the local cult figure brings his own brand of ‘hellhound on your tail’ testifying to the event with his raw musicianship, powerful vocals and adrenaline-packed live show.
Dom will be showcasing his personal blend of what he calls ‘undead horror blues.’
In the spirit of all things ghastly, everyone is invited to wear fancy dress, with prizes and party games to help the night go with a swing.
