The most exciting, foot tapping, alcohol infused disagreement that’s been heard since The Pogues Fairytale Of New York.
Bone To Pick With You is the newest single from Pretty Gritty, taking from their second album Seven Year Itch and is hailed as a triumph above adversity.
An edgy track that has a classic American riff with a touch of enigmatic genius. It’s a yo-yo kind of love affair permeated with the soothing yet sour taste of Whiskey. For fans of the English pop group The Beautiful South they’ll recognise a quirky reality and humorous quality of a less than mundane relationship.
The Portland, Oregon based duo Sarah Wolff and Blaine Heinonen although previously from different rock bands were brought together by fate and local ‘open-mic’ nights and very quickly it became evident that they shared the same in their love of writing and performing songs that infuse Country, Rock and Soul.
Influenced by artists such as Johnny Cash, Damien Rice, Imelda May, KT Tunstall and Aretha Franklin to name but a few they have become a creative force, producing an Alt-Rock sound that is both engaging and harmonious.
Utilising their multi-instrumental skills and cultivated a unique sound that have seen them opening acts such as Bluegrass musician Tim O’Brian, Chris Eldridge and actor, comedian and singer Larry the Cable Guy. They’ve also performed at the Virginia State Fair, The Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival.
Pretty Gritty’s self-titled debut album (2012) won them two Indie Music Channel awards for Best Courtney Song and Best Folk Song. The duo then went on to work with the Creative & Dreams Music Network (Nashville, TN) where they released their 2016 Lonely Road EP, pleased with the joint relationship they returned to record their newest album Seven Year Itch which continues to receive reviews and radio AirPlay across the US and Europe.
