A modern day love story with an old-time theme, the thrill of first dates and inner turmoils just slipping away with the passing of sweet new moments of growing attraction in singer songwriter Mike Beech’s debut single, Running.

Written back in 2017 this upbeat, happy-go-lucky sounding track has become more than just one man and his guitar belting out the triumphs of new love, it’s a creation which has made him very proud.

At 24, Beech pulls no punches, telling it straight with a hint of cheeky fun. Combining contemporary pop/folk sounds that’s easy listening with just the teeniest hint of cheese, because let’s face it, we love a bit cheese with our pop music. It’s the essence that makes pop, pop.

It’s a far cry from his educational beginnings in mathematics, learning classical guitar at around age eight after seeing School Of Rock ‘way too many times’ his love of music continued through university where the self-taught musician scored himself an unexpected break after being selected as the singer for the renowned University of Warwick Big Band and from there was encouraged by the experience to pursue a career in music.

Emboldened by this Mike began working on original material and as his confidence as an artist has grown he is now ready to release his first EP beginning with Running.

It’s well written and well executed and with over 12k streams and 4K listeners already, with those numbers rising steadily making this a promising start for this emerging young star.

Running is available now on all platforms.
