Hailing all the way from Preston and fresh from the Great Escape festival in Brighton, Hugh Aitchison, Nathan Walker and Marcus Maddock otherwise known as Dr!ftwood are cruising their way into the spotlight.

Their newly released second single Fade Away is a crisp and incredibly strong piece with a harmoniously layered backing sound that’s gives modern clarity to that distinctive Northern sound that’s not been heard for quite some time. These guys are giving it their all and having the time of their lives in the process. The creative essences running through the band coupled with the collective influences of the 1975’s, Ed Sheeran, LANY and Busted results in an extraordinarily bold and vibrant track.

Having signed with a leading management company in London Dr!ftwood and are now under the wing of industry veteran Ian Titchener who has previously worked with artists such as ABBA and Marvin Gaye.

“The future’s looking bright for us. says Marcus Maddock.

And it most definitely is, having been described as one of the tightest bands on the circuit and sublime live performances that are not to be missed.

Although Hugh (vocalist) and Nathan (drummer) along with (guitarist) Marcus have had no formal musical training they just, “figured it out”, admits Marcus.

The guys have only been together a couple of years but all three are constantly developing their craft whilst releasing their music. The enhanced pop and rock sound appears to be in perpetual motion, exploring beyond their acoustic roots and developing a richer more commercially recognised sound.

Their first single This City, released way back in 2016, recorded at Red City Records in Manchester this was the band’s first experience of working with a producer and a chance to explore the big stadium pop sound they wanted to move towards. The track was featured on the Vodafone big top 40 and went on to chart on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts eventually peaking at 26.

It’s important for any bands future success to have a strong knowledgeable team behind them and knowing they are in capable hands they would like to give thanks to their management team Ian Titchener, for putting up with them and the incredible Colin Peters for enabling them to have the track distributed by Universal Records. And a huge thank you to Michael Smith at RYP studios for all his efforts on the track.

2019 is already set to be a busy year, the guys are due to play a festival for UCLAN in Preston on 18th May then heading over to Liverpool for an intimate acoustic set on 30th May then they head down to London for Camden Rocks on 1st and 2nd of June…phew…and the summer hasn’t even begun.

Fade Away is available to stream and download on all platforms.
