Inimitable rock ‘n’ soul sextet Foxy Shazam have announced their first full UK tour in support of the international release of their self-titled Sire Records album on October 25.
Produced by John Feldmann, Foxy Shazam is the Cincinnati, OH band’s major label debut. The album is preceded by the release of the band’s first UK single, the infectious Oh Lord on October 11, 2010.
Earlier this summer Foxy Shazam brought their good times mobile to the UK where they performed at the Reading/Leeds Festival plus support slots for Lostprophets and Motion City Soundtrack.
This followed the band’s previous UK trip supporting Hole earlier in 2010. The band were hailed by Virtual Festivals, Alter The Press and Total Guitar as highlights of the Reading/Leeds Festivals.
Citing influences as varied as Marvin Gaye, Elton John and Born To Run-era Bruce Springsteen, Foxy Shazam have been creating unique, genre-defying music since they formed in 2004.
From the anthemic Unstoppable to doo wop power ballad Bye Bye Symphony, the swooning Connect Me, and Rob Cavallo produced, Justin Hawkins featuring Count Me Out. Foxy Shazam is an amalgam of blues, soul, and brash pop bound by a no holds barred punk-rock aesthetic.
