The countdown to the UK’s map-trotting festival Dot To Dot has begun and the lineup this year makes it a must-see for all music fans.
Dot-to-Dot has just added even more acts to the stellar line-up: Wavves, Willis Earl Beal, Hooray For Earth, Pond, Neon Indian, Jake Bugg, The Rumour Said Fire, Beth Jeans Houghton, Islet, Patterns, Peace, Rae Morris, Random Impulse, Admiral Fallow, Bastille, Bondax, Clock Opera, Eyes On Film, Lulu James, Murray James, The Night, Scoundrels, Shinies, Swiss Lips and Turbowolf.
Dot-to-Dot is one of the fastest-growing festivals and has been growing in popularity since its inception seven years ago.
The multi-venue festival, showcasing rising stars and established talent, gives us another reason to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.
Dot-to-Dot Organiser Anton Lockwood said: “Dot To Dot 2012 will see a great line-up of exciting new music alongside the hottest live acts at the moment.
“Indie titans The Drums and fast-rising rockers Pulled Apart by Horses sets the tone for Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester to each have a great day of fresh and exciting music.”
Kicking off this year’s line-up is one of the biggest success stories of recent years, The Drums, one of the UK’s most acclaimed bands. They will be joined by:
Pulled Apart By Horses
Willy Mason
Dog Is Dead
Summer Camp
Lucy Rose
ThePetebox
Pearl And The Beard
Wonder Villains
Vadoinmessico
Broken Hands
Deaf Club
Dirty Goods
D2D asked the stars: ‘Join up the dots between two other acts to sum up your sound….’
Lucy Rose: “Feist and Phil Collins.”
Bastille: “Maybe Bon Iver’s harmonies and layering, and Yeasayer, for trying out different production ideas from song to song and using unconventional and potential world-music-esque ideas in hooky pop songs.”
Peace: “I’d say ACDC & Ricardo Villalobos but last night someone said we we’re like Nirvana & Happy Mondays. Nothing ever makes sense.”
Scoundrels: “That’s a toughy. A vicious groove, riff and soul sexing of Cliff Richard and Lawrence Welk most probably.”
