Radio DJ and record label head Gilles Peterson will hold an exclusive Q&A event at FACT next month.

The Acid Jazz, Talkin’ Loud and Brownswood owner is presenting a preview of his upcoming film, Bam Bam Bam: The Story of Sonzeira, at the arts venue.

Bam Bam Bam follows Peterson’s travels in Brazil, where he assembled a group of local musicians, collectively known as Sonzeira, to help promote authentic Brazilian music to the masses.

The BBC 6Music DJ was followed by award-winning director and Brazilophile Charlie Inman and resident Rio De Janeiro filmmaker Ben Holman, of Beija films, who chronicled his musical journey.

After the screening, Peterson will hold a conversation with Chibuku’s Lewis Boardman to discuss the music of Brazil, the experience of putting together Sonzeira and what’s next for him.

Tickets are available now from fact.co.uk/gillespeterson, by phone on 0871 902 5737 and from the FACT Box Office.
