Dizzee Rascal has slammed Kanye West, claiming that Kanye has issues and should not be allowed to talk about hip hop any more.

The rapper, 36, last week vowed to become the head of the first trillion-dollar company in an interview with the BBC.

Reacting to the bizarre promise, Dizzee said: “I think he’s going through some stuff, man. I wouldn’t make him the spokesperson for hip hop right now.”

Dizzee is back in the Top 10 with his new album, The Fifth, which he says was inspired by his time in the States. But the Miami resident admitted home is where the heart is.

He joked: “I spend all day in my Union Jack pants.

“A lot of the album is about my experiences in the US. When I’m in Miami there’s a few English people there, but there’s more of a Latin vibe than an American vibe.

“You can go there and speak Spanish for a month.”

Dizzee has also recently shown his support for UK talent, backing emerging Birmingham singer Laura Mvula, predicting she will follow in his footsteps and scoop the Mercury Prize this month.

He said: “I like Laura. I’d like to see her win.”
