Bruno Mars has climbed his way up from guest vocalist and singer-songwriter to become one of today’s hottest male solo artists.

On his evolution as an artist and seeking inspiration from the 80s, the Grenade singer said: “I love 80s music. I feel it was a time for powerful singers and front-men. Keyboards came into play and changed the sound of music. I love Phil Collins, Prince, Michael Jackson and The Police – I love the comparisons between The Police and my sound on Unorthodox Jukebox.”

On his dream project, the Locked Out Of Heaven singer said: “One day I shall make a movie that I’m gonna write, direct and star in. It will be called Tears And Action and it’ll be a very true autobiography about how I grew up as a cage fighter.”
