After a two year absence plugging solo material and generally pottering about in the garden, Bloc Party have returned from whence they came, and have released information of some UK tour dates to whet the appetite of their dear fans.

This expedition kicks off with three intimate shows on British soil, which serves as a prelude to a busy summer of festival appearances in more tropical destinations.

These performances will be the first chance fans will get to check out new material from their forthcoming album, as well as listening to some old favourites from the likes of Silent Alarm and other gems from the band’s 10 year back catalogue.

Kele messaged Bloc Party fans this morning: “Hello internet, I know it’s been a long two and half years since bloc party last performed in the UK.”

“Well it seems that wait is over, we are happy to announce a short run of intimate shows for our friends in the UK and our friends in the US. We will be playing choice cuts from our new record as well as some more familiar jams. We hope to see you soon.”

Tickets are on sale now, available through the band’s website, here – live.blocparty.com

The London four piece recently announced their singing to Frenchkiss Records, a label with a similarly creative outlook on all things guitar laden.

Syd Butler of Frenchkiss Records said: “We are thrilled to be working with Bloc Party on this next record. They are in the best spirits and we are lucky to be working with such professionals, friends and ambassadors.”

“Their parents raised them right. We all know they make phenomenal records and we are honored that the next one will be on Frenchkiss.”

To mark the 10 year anniversary of their debut 7”, Bloc Party have also announced a truly one off release and Record Store Day exclusive.

The band have issued a re-release of their single ‘She’s Hearing Voices’ which will be coming to you via Transgressive Records on April the 21st. Don’t miss your chance to get hold of one.
