Tanzos is the stage name for Austrian Indie-rock innovator Mik Tanzos. Having nurtured a reputation for universal excursions through his records, the singer returns with his new single ‘Nevermind’ – an ode to acceptance and moving on.
Tanzos is no stranger to the music scene, having been the frontman and songwriter of the Austrian Indie Rock trio ‘Zeronic’. With 2 nominated albums in the ‘Best Alternative’ Category at the Austrian Music Award ‘Amadeus’, the band went on to support creditable names on tour, including New Order, Stereophonics and The Kills.
On his latest slice ‘Nevermind’, Tanzos shows flexibility in his dynamic production, pivoting from delicate embers of sound, to mechanical guitar riffs. Narrated through the artists earthy vocals, ‘Nevermind’ is a meditation to letting go of the missed opportunities; a feeling we can all somewhat relate to, given the current circumstances of the pandemic.
Talking of his new single, Tanzos tells says: “I guess everyone struggles with feeling like they have missed out on opportunities from time to time, whether that be small or big ones. Sometimes, a simple ‘nevermind’ coming from a friend might just be what you need to hear in order to let go and to untie the knot.”
In 2017, the Austrian artist released his first solo Album New Room, which secured him a slot to perform as the special guest on Paul Weller’s tour. His singles ‘A sign of peace’ and ‘How Do You Want Me’ landed the #1 spot on the Austrian Indie Charts.
‘Nevermind’ is available to stream now.
