The Maccabees’ final tour dates as a band have been revealed, the tour dubbed: The Maccabees: Live For the Last Time, is set to kick off in Manchester.
The group burst onto the music scene in 2007 with their debut album Colour It In, they released what would end up being their final album, back in July last year, 13 months later, they announced that they’re calling it a day as a group to go their separate ways.
In a shock statement, the band told fans in August: “After 14 years as a band, we have decided to call it a day.
“The decision has obviously been an incredibly difficult one, given that The Maccabees has been such a huge part of our lives until now.
“We are very proud to be able to go out on our own terms, at our creative peak and off the back of the best and biggest shows we have ever done.”
Tickets for the band’s final set of gigs will go on sale at 9am this Friday, December 9 and will be available via Ticketmaster.
The group will kick off their final three shows together at Manchester O2 Apollo on June 28, 2017 before heading to London’s Alexandra Palace for two huge gigs on June 30 and July 1, 2017.
The band’s tour rounds up an acclaimed run of four albums for the band, including their chart topping 2015 record Marks To Prove It.
Last year’s statement suggested that the members – currently completed by frontman Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Rupert Jarvis, Felix White, and Sam Doyle – will now go on to work on new projects, adding, “there are no concrete plans at this stage, we are all planning to continue making music”.
The Maccabees made four seminal albums: ‘Colour It In’ (2007), ‘Wall of Arms’ (2009), ‘Given To The Wild’ (2012) and ‘Marks To Prove It’ (2015).
The Maccabees are: Orlando Weeks – vocals, Hugo White – guitar, Felix White – guitar, Rupert Jarvis – bass and Sam Doyle – drums.
