Over in the Cheshire countryside of Daresbury, this Bank Holiday weekend has seen some infamous artists play at one of the world’s greatest dance festivals, that is Creamfields.
From Swedish DJ duo Axwell and Ingrosso, to six-time Grammy Award nominee deadmau5, to UK chart topper Eric Prydz, this weekend has been packed full of raves, pyromaniacs and incredible music mixes.
But backstage, a surprise guest appeared to give support to Liverpool’s own DJ Anton Powers.
Four time UK number one and multi-award winner Pixie Lott arrived in true festival gear, with an aztec crop top, black hot pant shorts, a pink leather jacket and daffodil-yellow painted nails.
Pixie released her latest single ‘Baby’ in March, after wanting to collaborate with Anton for a little while now.
Speaking to Pixie, we asked her why she really wanted to duet with the Liverpudlian DJ…
“We met years ago when he remixed one of my old songs, Gravity, and I loved it. And then we sort of bumped into each other in Ibiza and always wanted to work together.
“I’ve always wanted to do a feature on a track and go into doing more dance music stuff, because that’s what everyone loves. And that’s obviously his world, and both of our world’s combined…and that’s how we made ‘Baby’.”
In anticipation of her performance on Saturday night, Pixie admitted that she had never been to Creamfields before, “Every time people go to Creamfields, they go for it and I hope that they go for it today.”
After taking some time out to coach and judge on ITV’s Voice the Kids, Pixie has still made effort to keep her adoring fans.
She said, “I’ve got my new single coming out soon, so stay tuned. You’ll hear it really soon.”
“I was going to sing it for the first time on Friday, but we thought it would be just a little bit early…”
