American rock band, The Strokes, have announced two more European festival appearances.

The New York band will join other artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish at Portugal’s NOS Alive, as well as Belgium’s Rock Werchter this summer.

The band will appear on the Main Stage of the NOS Alive in Lisbon on July 11. A week before, they appear at Rock Werchter, in Belgium (which takes place from July 2-5).

Previously confirmed artists there include Pearl Jam, Faith and The Streets. More artists are set to be announced on Friday.

It is their second confirmed European show of 2020, following an announcement last week that they will headline Barcelona’s Primavera Sound.

Other newly confirmed artists added to the NOS Alive bill include Jorja Smith, Alec Benjamin, and The Lumineers.

The new announcements come as little surprise to fans as the American rockers teased them with new music at the band’s New Year’s Eve concert, performing new song ‘Ode to the Mets.’ At the gig, the frontman of the band, Julian Casablancas told the crowd to expect a new album soon. He said the band took a brake last decade but now the quintet were “unfrozen.”

The band’s last album, ‘Comedown Machine’, was released in 2013 and the band were not heard from again until 2016, when they released the EP, Future Present Past. It seems fans’ patience will be rewarded as the band look ahead to the 2020s.
