American soul blues singer songwriter Shawn James will soon tour the UK as part of his European tour promoting his most recent album ‘On The Shoulders Of Giants’, performing for the first time across the UK, including a headline show at The Constitution, London on March 31.

Shawn became a viral sensation last year he landed 3 million plays on Spotify and topped the Spotify viral chart when Sony Playstation featured the song ‘Through the Valley’ in the launch for their blockbuster game ‘The Last of Us 2’. This prompted millions of music and gaming fans to seek out the creator of the track, resulting in Shawn becoming an over night word of mouth hit in the US and UK. Since Shawn has landed a publishing deal with Raleigh Music Group, and been able to fund an extensive tour of the UK and Europe.

Born in Chicago in 1986 and currently residing in Arkansas in the deep south USA, singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist, Shawn James discovered his love for soul and blues music while growing up in the American south and listening to artists including: Son House, Robert Johnson, Tom Waits, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, and Ray Lamontagne. Shawn is one of the hardest working DIY musicians on the US singer songwriting circuit. A self starter, Shawn has played over one thousand gigs, self funding three album releases and 15 US and 4 european tours, whilst also running his own record label and performing with his band The Shapeshifters.

His unique blend of blues, folk & soul music is gritty and authentic, already drawing comparisons to Sea Sick Steve and Rag N Bone Man in the UK. With millions of new fans deeply connecting with Shawn’s giant gravelly raw vocals and modern soul/blues songwriting and with three self released solo albums to explore and a european live tour this spring, Shawn is set to become one of the most talked about bluesmen in recent times, bringing his own brand of blues to a new younger generation.

Shawn stated: “I’m absolutely stoked on finally making it over to the U.K. The amount of soulful music coming out of there is outstanding and I look forward to playing shows, making my mark and meeting new folks all around the area.”
