Sensus Events have today announced that they’re bringing dance music legends Cristoph and Rui Da Silva to Chester to headline their biggest event yet – Sensus Fest. Sensus Fest is a daytime festival that will be taking place at the much-loved Carriage Shed venue in Chester City Centre on Saturday the 23rd of September.
Newcastle based DJ and Producer Cristoph has taken the House music scene by storm, reaching a pivotal moment in his career in 2016. It was during this year that he accomplished his most significant breakthrough by joining Hot Since 82’s white-hot Knee Deep in Sound imprint & becoming the inaugural artist to launch the label’s coveted ‘8-track’ album series. The concept album thrust Cristoph into the international spotlight, with anthemic vocal tracks like “Alone” and “Closer” enrapturing dancefloors around the world.
Cristoph took a significant step in his career in 2017 when he signed with two of the most reputable labels in the electronic music industry – John Digweed’s iconic Bedrock & Sasha’s renowned Last Night on Earth. It was a moment that brought his journey full circle, showcasing his talent and dedication to the craft. With his distinctive sound and impeccable production skills, Cristoph quickly made a mark on both imprints, delivering standout releases that captivated the progressive world.
Currently Cristoph has joined forces with the Pryda family, becoming the first artist to sign to Prydz’s brand new imprint, Pryda Presents. It’s a definitive nod of approval from one of the scene’s most celebrated tastemakers & a surefire mark of Cristoph’s blossoming career.
Next on the bill is Rui Da Silva, who is recognised as one of Portugal’s most precious exports. With his exceptional talent, Rui Da Silva has managed to create his own niche earning both underground respect and widespread commercial success. Rui left Portugal in 1999 to immerse himself in London’s booming music industry. With this he quickly established a considerable following along with a high level of exposure, ultimately enabling him to set up a new label, ‘Kismet Records’ in 2000.
His breakthrough moment came when his iconic track “Touch Me” soared to the top of international music charts, bridging the gap between the club scene & mainstream radio. But that’s not all, Rui is not only an accomplished producer, but a songwriter too and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Queen of Hearts, Ruby Goe and Aggro Santos to name a few.
Rui’s skills as a re-mixer are also highly sought after. He has worked with Djs and Pop Stars from Danny Tenaglia to Jennifer Lopez. Yoko Ono also approached Rui to rework “Walking On Thin Ice”, the last track that she and John Lennon worked on. It’s safe to say that Rui Da Silva is set to take over the world.
The pair will be joined by a handpicked selection of Sensus residents and guest DJ’s – rest assured they’ll be on hand to keep you moving throughout the day and long into the night.
The team have not taken any shortcuts in the planning process, taking in the industrial surroundings for their new branding and going all out on production plans. Attendees can expect world-class production, Funktion One sound systems and incredible visuals that will be combined to create an unmissable show that is sure to go down in history as one of Chesters most ambitious and impactful music events.
