Following a highly successful inaugural year, Liverpool International Music Festival is back, bigger and better, for 2014.
This year, the event – which brings together the very best in musical entertainment from around the globe – will take place from 15 to 30 August.
In 2013, the first-ever Liverpool International Music Festival saw thousands of music fans watch over 250 artists around the city – with a line-up as diverse as it was impressive.
The likes of the Marley brothers, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Soul II Soul, JLS and Little Mix performed at venues all over Liverpool, including Sefton Park and the Pier Head and across bank holiday weekend alone, it is estimated more than 150,000 people turned up to enjoy the live music.
This year, the organisers are taking the event one-step further, promising big names, local talent, up-and-coming artists and never-before-seen collaborations.
Yaw Owusu, curator of the festival, said: “Last year was our chance to launch the first ever Liverpool Music Festival.
“This year, it’s all about making a statement and establishing the event as the leading UK festival for global music. We’ve got some extremely exciting artists confirmed for the event and some incredible firsts. Watch this space.”
The first line-up announcement is set to be revealed in forthcoming weeks.
