Bloodstock is only 78 sleeps away and we’re beginning to get excited!

With the world still slowly emerging from the fog of the last few years, there are still a few travel and covid related hangovers effecting the ability for bands to perform at this year’s festival, but the team at Catton Park Towers have been diligently ensuring that all bases are covered and the festival will be as incredible as ever.

With the news that Jamey Jasta and his Hatebreed crew have been forced to pull out of many of their Europe dates including Bloodstock it has been deemed that Sheffield metallers MALEVOLENCE should step up and headline the Saturday night on the S.O.P.H.I.E. stage.

After their energetic showing on the main stage last year and fresh off the back of supporting Architects on their recent arena run, they will no doubt be up to the job, and may well be creators of the biggest circle pit you will see all weekend.

Other logistical issues mean that there’s been a bit of line-up juggling going on to make things work. That means NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA will now headline the Sunday night of the festival, and Sweden’s DARK TRANQUILITY will now move to the headline spot on Thursday night.

BLOODSTOCK can also reveal the first phase of winners in their celebrated Metal 2 The Masses programme, all who’ll be appearing on the New Blood stage at some point across festival weekend.

Landing Friday slots are Scottish heat victors and modern metal 5-piece CATALYSIS, plus Northern Ireland’s top dogs, the riff-heavy trio HAINT, the Republic of Ireland’s winners, blackened death metal squad FORNOTH and the Leeds heat champions and heavy metal militia, PARIAH.  Also snagging Saturday sets on the New Blood stage are the Manchester final overlords, deathcore squad PORTRAYAL OF RUINN, Leeds’ victors, the melodic hardcore squad STEEL MAGE and Newcastle upon Tyne’s conquerors, the brutal deathcore outfit CAST IN TEPHRA.

Also grabbing New Blood stage slots from CD submissions are ferocious Yorkshire 5-piece, IREOSIS, who land a Friday slot, dark symphonic deathcore outfit DRACONIAN REIGN score a Saturday slot and Sunday appearances will come from heavy rock power trio SWEET MAY and groove-laden riff-worshippers TORUS.

Should you find yourself between bands or with time to kill you should ALWAYS pay a visit to the New Blood Tent as every year you are more than likely to discover a handful of new favourite bands.

All VIP packages, Early Bird tix, and campervan passes have now sold out. You can still snap up standard weekend camping tickets (just £145 +fees for 4 days of heavy metal fun) plus day & child tix are available now at the ticket store. Mini moshers under age 4 get in free!

BLOODSTOCK’s 2022 Ronnie James Dio main stage headliners are BEHEMOTH, LAMB OF GOD, and MERCYFUL FATE. Also appearing across the weekend are KILLING JOKE, DIMMU BORGIR, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, AVATAR, ALL HAIL THE YETI, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, GWAR (in a UK festival exclusive), BURY TOMORROW, SACRED REICH, LIFE OF AGONY, SPIRITWORLD, BELPHEGOR, BUTCHER BABIES, VIO-LENCE, BLOODYWOOD, JINJER, LORNA SHORE, DOYLE, LOST SOCIETY, SLEEP TOKEN, DARK FUNERAL, EYEHATEGOD, DISCHARGE, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, ENFORCED, PARTY CANNON, SOEN, HERIOT, BLOOD YOUTH, BLACK TONGUE, HEART OF A COWARD, FEROCIOUS DOG, HEATHEN, NEKROGOBLIKON, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ORBIT CULTURE, SAMAEL, CYHRA, NOCTEM, NANOWAR OF STEEL, THROWN INTO EXILE, PUPIL SLICER, CAGE FIGHT, VENDED, ILL NINO, SKARLETT RIOT, DESERT STORM, SORCERER, RED METHOD, BAEST, MOTHER VULTURE, BASEMENT TORTURE KILLINGS, CREPITATION, INHUMAN NATURE, MASTIFF, PELUGION, and many more, with additional 2022 announcements still to come!
