Liverpool’s iconic club night, Freeze, celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2015.
This year sees the party entering a truly exciting phase, approaching a genre-crossing, forward-thinking and taste-making artist policy whilst still retaining the foundations upon which it is built.
Rather than focusing on just one party, the nomadic crew have got a series of events planned throughout the year, bringing in some amazing debuts along with a few old friends from across the club’s rich history.
Freeze has grown in tandem with the city’s own cultural resurgence, charting their unique course through the electronic music spectrum as a dynamic and agenda-setting night.
With its DNA all about seeking the region’s most intimate, quirky and stunning venues – including everywhere from the Anglican Cathedral to the Williamson Tunnels, via the Bombed Out Church and several warehouses – Freeze’s first party on Saturday 14th March promises to be special: The Lemon Lounge.
The fabled space is re-opening in the spring after a long hiatus, and is one of Liverpool’s most legendary spaces where Freeze, Chibuku Shake Shake and Alderaan all held their first ever parties.
Returning to The Lemon Lounge is a bit of a nostalgic look back to where Freeze has come from – and at where it is now.
For this show they are bringing two of their most loved guests back to Liverpool, with Danny Howells and Paolo Mojo headlining.
With many sets between them in the brilliant venue, this promises to be an emotional start to the tenth anniversary year.
This show will sell out, and tickets are available by ballot only. Liverpool fave Steve Parry also stars, along with Rob Casson and Andy Currie playing back to back, and Jemmy and Mike Owen in support.
Huge news follows next week with the first run of events at The Bombed Out Church in the summer. For a taste of what that looks like, check here: http://www.kompakt.fm/blog/yngGTcEyMugQ
There is also a very special brand new collaboration to be revealed soon, further consolidating Freeze’s standing as one of the UK’s most enduring club nights.
