Legendary electronic pioneer GARY NUMAN headlines the brand new state of the art Exhibition Centre Liverpool as he prepares to release the hotly anticipated ‘Savage’, his first album in over five years.
Having recently signed a brand new record deal with BMG and with his new album Savage in preparation foe release, his show will be a celebration of his epic career spanning almost 40 years and a jaw-dropping 21 studio albums not to mention the promise of some new material. This is chance to catch the maestro on the cusp of another incredible chapter in his career.
Completing the line up on the night will be influential group, Gang Of Four. Gang of Four are widely considered one of the leading bands of the late 1970s/early 1980s post-punk movement. Their debut album, Entertainment! was ranked as fifth greatest punk album of all time
Expect a high octane performance from one of the originals featuring both classic material and the first live outing of Gary’s new record in the UK.
Most widely known for his chart-topping hits “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” and “Cars”, Numan achieved his peak of mainstream popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but maintains a loyal cult following to this day and is still making music, with a new album due out this year.
Gary Numan’s most recent album is 2013’s Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind.) The album debuted at number twenty on the UK Albums Chart on sales of 6,187 copies, becoming Numan’s highest-charting album since 1983’s Warriors.
His latest album Savage, is set for release later this year. The lead single taken from the album is titled My Name is Ruin.
Numan’s gig next month is part of Liverpool’s 50 Summers of Love season which began in April and is set to conclude in August.
