Despite the closure of their spiritual home Nation at the end of this year, global clubbing behemoth Cream aren’t going anywhere as they reveal plans of a busy schedule of special events in their home city for 2016. Teasing us into the New Year they’ve announced their first club show of the year which will see them taking over the 3000 capacity Mountford Hall on Saturday 20th February.

Headlining this very special event is one of the world’s biggest touring artists, the Grammy nominated DIM MAK label boss Steve Aoki, as a leading figures in the global EDM scene he’s chosen two of the world’s most influential cities for the European debut of his ‘Neon Future’ stage show, Friday 19th February will see him take over London’s O² Academy Brixton before he heads north to Liverpool, expect ground breaking production and a futuristic visual feast for the senses along with the usual fun, frolics and cake throwing antics Aoki is renowned for.

Joining Steve for the 3 room Mountford hall takeover is one of the Dutch DJ elite Sander van Doorn, renowned for his technical wizardry both behind the decks and in the studio is why this multi-talented artist has become one of the most influential and popular DJ/Producers in dance music today. Next up is Danny Howard, with over 1.8 million listeners tuning into his BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems show he has exploded into the big league, however his production talents haven’t gone unnoticed either, signed to Spinnin’ Records and with over 20 releases already to his name his impressive production talents have seen him working with legendary figures such as Paul Oakenfold and DJ Fresh.

After igniting dancefloors across the country with the biggest breakout record of 2014 ‘Wish You Were Mine’ which peaked at #2 in the UK singles chart, the 22 year old Nottingham born deep house DJ/Producer Philip George is at the forefront of the UK’s hottest new talents, continuing with the deep house sound and making his Liverpool debut is London-based tropical house DJ/Producer Sigala, fresh off the back of his #1 hit single ‘Easy Love’, another welcome addition is Liverpool’s own musical powerhouse Anton Powers, despite juggling a busy DJ schedule, and being A&R head for the super successful 3 Beat Records he’s also achieved chart success most recently with ‘Alone No More’ which saw him collaborate with fellow label buddy Philip George shooting onto the Radio 1 playlist and reaching #1 in the UK Dance Chart. Other acts include Cream residents Gareth Wyn, Anthony Probyn with more guests still to be announced.

Cream at Mountford Hall signifies the first event of the year for Cream in their home city and follows last week’s announcement of ‘Cream Classics’ at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on Saturday 16th April which will see them collaborate with the 60 piece Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert of classic dance tracks as you’ve never heard them before. And celebrating the success of their win this week at the UK Festival Awards which saw Creamfields bring home the award for ‘Best Dance Event’ for the 8th year, 2016 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting year for Cream.
