Headlining the Main Stage at the spectacular Watergate Bay are acclaimed acts Basement Jaxx, The Vaccines and Ben Howard. And with a massive 8 stages spanning the Cornish cliff tops, there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone from dance and indie to hard rock and hip-hop.
The phenomenal music line-up boasts the who’s who of the music industry with Radio 1 DJs Benga and MistaJam in residence, alongside Simian Mobile Disco, Man Like Me, XXXY, The Joy Formidable, Tom Odell, Everything Everything, Delphic, Frightened Rabbit, Grandmaster Flash, We Are The Ocean, Miles Kane, Fenech Soler, MJ Cole, Hudson Taylor, Ahab, The Skints, The Breaks Collective, Josh Record, Devolution, Copy Paste Soul and many more.
Lining Fistral’s sandy shores is the popular beach bar, live music performances, boutique stalls, art installations including surf art, photography and films and top action from the Boardmasters Skate and BMX ramps.
At the Fistral Beach Bar, music, beach and festival lovers can gather to hear the harmonious sounds of The Lake Poets and Steve Smyth at the sell out Beach Sessions gigs in addition to greatly anticipated headliners The 1975 and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Boardmasters has always been a long-weekend getaway, and now for the first time on offer is an additional camping night, giving you up to 4 nights to enjoy all that Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay has to offer.
With an eclectic range of competitive categories, everyone from pro riders to groms can take part in this years competition with the formats to include: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s Longboard, Pro Junior (Under 20s), Under 16s Mixed and Air Show.
Entry is now open for Boardmasters all-new exciting surf comps. Taking place at the picturesque Fistral Beach, festival-goers can gather on the shoreline for a beer and bite to eat whilst watching the UK’s top surfers go head to head.
Kicking things off with the legendary Men’s Open with 2002 Boardmasters champion and twice UK Pro Tour champion Russell Winter and 2012 UK Pro Tour champion Jayce Robinson already confirmed to take to the waves.
Boardmasters are also once again be hosting the Women’s Open featuring English women’s champion, Keisha Eyre and 2012 UK Pro Champion Evie Johnson.
The highly anticipated Men’s Longboard competition will see Cornwall favourite and 7x European Longboard Champion, Ben Skinner compete against reigning English Longboard 2012 champion, Adam Griffiths.
Set to be another thrilling surf battle, athletes and festivalgoers alike will be treated to an intense heat as Skinner and Griffiths compete for the podium.
An exciting new addition to 2013 will include the Pro Junior (under 20’s) and Grom Masters (Under 16’s mixed competition) where Boardmasters will be showcasing the very best of the up and coming talent that the UK has to offer.
Look out for under-18 2012 Champion Job Harriss and British Nationals Pro Junior champion, Luke Dillon.
To round an exciting few days of action sports off, make sure you are at Fistral beach for the Boardmasters Air Show featuring one of the best Aerialist in Europe, Ruebyn Ash.
