The 2019 edition of Bloodstock Open Air Festival has just come to a close.
As 15,000 metalheads return home to recover from a weekend that saw everything from mega sets by Parkway Drive, Thy Art Is Murder, The Wildhearts, Metal Church and so many more, along with blazing heat, sideways rain, that kind of mud that swallows wellies for fun – and constant 65mph winds that forced Cradle of Filth to postpone their set by 24 hours – the first wave of announcements for next year’s festival have been released.
With 2020 being the festival’s 20th anniversary it’s sure to be a special occasion covering everything we love about heavy metal music and the first 6 bands on the line-up will all bring their own unique take on that to Catton Park next year.
The Bay Area’s thrash band VIO-LENCE will make their first ever (and only) UK appearance on the main stage and Phoenix-based four piece, SACRED REICH will join them in their only UK festival appearance of the year.
Welsh ragga-metal heroes SKINDRED will return after their emphatic set in 2017 which saw them win over a whole field of people yet again. Get your t shirts ready for the Newport Helicopter!
There is also a double dose of melodeath on offer with BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and DARK TRANQUILLITY grabbing main stage slots, along with LA metal crew, BUTCHER BABIES.
The headline acts are yet to be announced but with the festival celebrating 2 decades of metal family gatherings they’re sure to be as epic always to ensure a party atmosphere.
BLOODSTOCK 2020 takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from 6th-9th August 2020. You can get your hands on early bird tickets, VIP tickets, car parking, child tickets and campervan tickets now from ticket store.
