Black Keys have been added to the spectacular line up of bands for Glastonbury 2014.
The festival is known for having amazing line ups including headliners like Tom Jones, Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys taking to the stage.
The band who are set to release their new album Turn Blue on May 13th have announced that they will be playing at the festival this June.
They will be joining an already star spangled line up including country legend Dolly Parton and up and coming artist Foxes.
The band announced the news using a mailer, which also contained all of the dates for their summer tour. This news was then confirmed by Radio One DJ Zane Lowe.
The band will be embarking on their tour not long after the album release in order to promote their new music.
Discussing their new album release, drummer Patrick Carney says “We are always trying to push ourselves when we make a record – not repeat our previous work but not abandon it either. On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. We’re excited for the world to hear.’
In terms of the choice behind the name for the album, the band discussed their inspirations including suffocation, sadness and numbness from extreme cold. Happy thoughts.
Former boxer Mike Tyson first released news about the bands new album from his twitter, posting a link to a teaser video.
Glastonbury will be held on Worthy Farm in Pilton from the 25th to the 29th of June.
The band will be playing on the Pyramid stage before the headliners which are yet to be confirmed.
The band was full of surprises, as well as releasing news about their new album, tour and festival appearances, they also released their new single.
The first song to be released from the album is called ‘Fever’ which is available to download now.
