Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering, Derbyshire’s award-winning, family-friendly festival, is delighted to announce that all tickets have now sold out for this year’s event, which features incredible headliners Robert Plant, Blossoms, Jimmy Cliff and Sleaford Mods, alongside a bill of more than 150 other live acts across 4-days!
There are no admission tickets remaining in any category. A small number of car parking passes, and a few tickets on the dedicated National Express Coach service from destinations around the UK are still on sale for pre-existing ticket holders only.
Bearded Theory Festival organisers are urging anyone without a ticket not to travel to the festival as none will be available at the gates, and to exercise extreme caution if attempting to purchase tickets on the secondary market.
Michael Eccleshall, Bearded Theory spokesperson says, ‘All of us at Bearded Theory are delighted that our Spring Gathering has once again sold out in advance. Despite an incredible line up for 2018, it can never be taken for granted. This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work of all our staff and volunteers, and once again shows the incredible loyalty that Bearded Theory has built up over the years. We want to say a massive thank you to all those ticket holders who have supported us once again.’
Featured recently as one of The Daily Telegraph’s ‘Top 100 UK Festivals’, Bearded Theory Spring Gathering takes place this upcoming May Bank Holiday, between Thursday 24th and Sunday 27th May, in the fabulous surroundings of South Derbyshire’s Catton Hall.
Having started life more than a decade ago as a birthday party, Bearded Theory has evolved to become one of the UK’s best-loved festivals, winning major awards including: ‘Best Small Festival’, ‘Best Promoter’ and ‘Best Family Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards; and ‘Best UK Independent Festival’ at the AIM Independent Music Awards.
This year’s line up is without doubt the strongest in Bearded Theory’s 11-year history.
Saturday night will see a rare festival performance by Robert Plant, one of the world’s greatest rock and roll voices. The former Led Zeppelin frontman will bring his incredible band, The Sensational Space Shifters, who have been selling out venues around the world, and will be performing a set full of classic hits and new material.
Friday is headlined by Blossoms, the hottest young band in the UK right now! Their debut single Charlemagne was Radio 1’s ‘Track of the Day’ and went on to earn them a place on BBC’s ‘Sound of Music 2016’ list. Their debut album ‘Blossoms’ went straight into the UK charts at #1, securing their inclusion on the coveted Mercury Music Prize shortlist. Their second album, ‘Cool Like You’ recently charted Top 5, making Bearded Theory undoubtedly one of the best opportunities to see both their classic hits, and new material.
As you would expect from Bearded Theory, joining Robert Plant on the bill is an exceptional and diverse collection of live acts, including Sunday headliner Jimmy Cliff, Scottish indie legends The Jesus & Mary Chain, local boy Jake Bugg, Electronic Punk Duo Sleaford Mods and English punk sensations Idles alongside classic festival acts such as Fun Lovin Criminals, The Coral, Sleeper, Dub Pistols, and many more.
Bearded Theory’s award-winning children’s area will be back bigger and better than ever! Alongside their unique on-site school, there is a massive range of free activities for all ages. These include The Children’s Village and Village Green; The Rogues Hideout teen area; the Bearded Kids Tent which offers a large craft area with paint, glitter and craft sessions, and The Baby Boo Care Tent will also have all the essentials for newborns, in case parents run out.
The festival’s excellent Family Camping facilities have again been extended to ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment for the many thousands of families who attend every year.
In addition to live music, The Woodland will welcome Funhouse Comedy, who are taking over the stage daily from midnight. They have confirmed a stunning line up featuring the likes of Tom Wrigglesworth, Rob Mullholland, Sean Percival and many more.
With 9 stages featuring world-class live acts; high-quality reasonably-priced food and drink; hundreds of free activities for young people and Sunday’s legendary fancy dress day (this year’s theme is Fairy Folk & Forest Creatures) it really is the only place to be.
