It has been reported that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is planning on reviving the Griffin family’s pet dog Brian at some point during the current run of Family Guy.
Audiences were outraged last month when they learnt that the death hinted at by writers at Comic Con 2013 was in fact the family’s beloved pet dog Brian.
Fans of the show even started an online petition to bring the pet pooch back from the grave.
In the wake of the death a number of sites appeared online that claimed the shows creators were planning on bringing the Brian back. But, when 20th Century Fox said the rumours were untrue the reality began to sink in.
But, unconfirmed reports have since surfaced that slate Brian to fall in love with Maya Rudolph in an episode due to air next autumn.
Family Guy creators are refusing to comment on the speculation, but this would not be the first time the shows creators have faked a death to shake things up.
Fans have marked this year’s Christmas episode for Brian’s miraculous return, after the official logline read:
“Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas”
It seems we will have to wait until December 15 to find out if the rumours are true.
