In a bold move, Joe and Caspar used the global power of their fan base to launch their new project Joe & Caspar Hit The Road USA.
The duo, who have over 11 million YouTube subscribers and over a billion total video views between them, were able to tell their fans simultaneously around the world of their new project via a live stream from the YouTube Space LA.
Joe Sugg says: “I’m so excited to be doing this all again… I’ve felt many emotions on this trip – you’ll have to watch to find out why.”
Caspar Lee says: “This time I’ve put my body on the line… and it’s going to pay off.”
The 90-minute live stream, which began at 8pm (British Summer Time) on the 7th July, also announced that the pair would be embarking on a live tour in the run up to the release date. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, will begin on the 23rd October taking in seven dates in the UK, four dates in Australia and one date in New Zealand. The must-see show will see the boys on stage talking about their latest adventure and contains exclusive footage from filming and behind-the-scenes funny business. Plus, there’s also an opportunity for some of their biggest fans to get up close and personal with Joe and Caspar for a VIP Meet & Greet prior to the shows.
Made by the production team behind BBC Worldwide’s Top Gear special commissions, Joe & Caspar Hit the Road USA will be released in the UK on the 21st November and sees the boys attempt a bigger and braver road trip, competing against each other in a series of pranks, competitions, forfeits and challenges to see who will become the ultimate all-American winner.
In 2015 Joe and Caspar’s first project with BBC Worldwide, Joe & Caspar Hit The Road (2015) became the biggest day one pre-ordered DVD in the year on Amazon.co.uk. Following the huge success of the first DVD, the feature length film was bought and aired on E4 in April 2016 after BBC Worldwide struck a deal with Channel 4.
