Delifonseca Dockside is giving the city’s mums a day off this Mother’s Day with a selection of special menus.
On Sunday, March 6, the restaurant and deli located at Brunswick Dock will give diners the chance to treat mum to a special ‘brekkie’ with its popular Mothering Sunday breakfast menu. Likewise a specially selected Mother’s Day Lunch will also be available.
For those with an early appetite, guests will receive a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a special starter of ‘Bircher Muesli’ oats soaked in apple juice topped with fresh berries, nuts, yoghurt and honey. Diners can then choose from a selection of dishes including, Inverawe Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs on Toast, Eggs Florentine and the Delifonseca Breakfast with free range breakfast sausage, two back bacon rashers, black pudding, free-range egg, mushrooms, tomato, sautéed potatoes and toast. To satisfy the sweet tooth, a warm croissant with raspberry and vanilla jam and butter will then be served.
Mums opting for the lunch menu can choose from an array of starters such as Pressed Duck Terrine & Toasts; Crab & Prawn Cocktail and Pea & Broad Bean Risotto. Mains include a choice of traditional Sunday Roasts served with ‘All the Trimmings’; Pan Fried Seabass Fillet with Ratatouille, Crispy Squid & Sauce Vierge; Pan Roasted Cod Loin, Roasted Onion Puree, Saffron Potatoes, Rainbow Vegetables & a Chive Cream; and Fine Tart of Caramelised Onion & Goats Cheese with a Panache of Vegetables and other Spring inspired dishes. Tempting desserts include Yorkshire Rhubarb & Ginger Trifle; Sticky Toffee Pudding and Chocolate & Raspberry Tart with Ripple Ice Cream.

Delifonseca Dockside’s sister restaurant Fonseca’s on Stanley Street will also host its own celebrations in the form of two Mother’s Day sittings, ideal for mums, grans and aunts who want to enjoy either an early or late lunch.
Available at 12:30pm and 3:30pm, guests will enjoy a Peach Bellini or Kir Royale on arrival followed by a three course feast. Starters include Cheshire Smokehouse Duck Breast complete with Orange & Hazelnut salad; Goats Cheese “En Croute” with Truffle Honey & Summer Leaves and Salmon Benedict – Inverawe Smoked Salmon on a Toasted English Muffin with Hollandaise Sauce. Diners can then choose from Roast Shoulder of Cumbrian Spring Lamb served with “All the Trimmings”; Baked Cod Loin wrapped in Serrano Reserva Ham served with Sage New Potatoes & Sun Blushed Tomato Butter and Asparagus, Petits Pois & Spring Onion Risotto with Parmesan Tuille & Soft Baby Herbs.
Indulgent desserts include Deluxe Chocolate Tart with White Chocolate Espuma and Baileys Chocolate Truffle; Apple & Quince Tart Tatin with Crème Anglaise and Summer Berry Roulade with Clotted Cream.

The Mother’s Day Breakfast at Delifonseca Dockside will begin at 9am and is priced at £19.50 per person.
The Mother’s Day Lunch at Delifonseca Dockside will be served from 12:30pm and is priced at £26.95 per person.
The Mother’s Day menu at Fonseca’s Stanley Street is available during two sittings at 12:30pm and 3:30pm and is priced at £29.95 per person with a £10 non-refundable deposit per person required upon booking.
