Performers enjoy record sales increase following their appearance at the Olympic Stadium.

Emeli Sande and Dizzee Rascal were among the artists whose record sales were boosted by their performance at the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

The £27 million ceremony at the Olympic Stadium was watched by over 20 million viewers in the UK alone, with up to a billion thought to have tuned in worldwide.

Released in the hours after the ceremony, most of the songs from director Danny Boyles’ Isles of Wonder compilation all made an impression on the iTunes chart.

Emeli Sande’s rendition of Abide With Me and Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal, originally a #1 hit in 2009, both made an impression on the chart.

Other performers from the Opening Ceremony, including Arctic Monkeys and Alex Trimble of Two Door Cinema Club, saw sales of their music increase.
