Shutterbug will launch its Christmas pop-up bar and event space – the Shutterbug Festive Bizarre – to celebrate the weird and wonderful of East London with festive food, specially made cocktails, performances and kid’s days on Saturdays.

Run by Shutterbug, Shoreditch’s creperie and cocktail bar who are expanding from their normal site in Rivington Place, into the main gallery space that opens onto Rivington Street.

The Festive Bizarre will have long tables for feasting, drinking and socialising as well as cosy sofas and armchairs.

Available will be Shutterbug’s famous signature crepes, with a special festive twist, as well as jars of tasty mulled wine and bespoke Christmas cocktails to get everyone into the party spirit.

The theme is East London, arty, eclectic and fun. Materials used are recycled, industrial and eccentric. Winter wonderland but without the chintz, slightly tongue-in-cheek look at xmas.

Artist and illustrator Cristina Guitian will create an Xmas ‘tree’ installation with unconventional decorations in keeping with her surreal and imaginative style.

Wonderfully absurd reflections of the world define her work. Her despair at our throw-away-culture manifests itself in her objects: found and revived, and through unexpected juxtapositions reborn.

There will also be live performances, film screenings and weekend childrens’ activities.
