Coming off the back of MF Doom’s love for all things Sade, as perfectly encapsulated in his ode to her with his track ’Doomsday’ on his 2009 release of Operation Doomsday, sampling vocals for ‘Kiss of Love.’

We have MF do so again on ‘Kon Karne’ taken from the album Mm Food, using Sade’s ‘Is It A Crime’ as a piano loop over beatboxing from Human DMX on Just-Ice’s 1986 classic, ‘Latoya’ taken from the album Back to the Old School.

Drawing on inspiration from what MF Doom accomplished, Sean Harrison or Seanh as he is known, has taken things up a notch. This Portsmouth based producer intermingles songs from both artists to great effect for a mashup mixtape, ultimately spawning the 8 track Sadevillain EP that doesn’t falter all the way through. What makes it all the more outstanding is that as a Producer, Sean Harrison is a self-taught 18 year old graphic design student.

First focusing on mixing Air, Silver Spoon was next to formulate in his mind, leading to the track being laid down. So the idea of the MF Doom and Sade mashup mixtape was firmly cemented in his mind. After painstaking research as to which body of work to focus on from each Artist, a thought out approach was carried out in the production of each track over the period of a month.

It’s hard to pick up out standouts track on the EP, but Gazzilion Grand certainly stands would have to be Gazzilion Grand, potentially outshining the original Gazzilion Ear.

As for Silver Spoon, you are reminded of how Sade’s vocals can hit you emotionally, in the midst of all that eeriness.

Well worth a listen for Sade and MF Doom fans alike.
