Liverpool business owner, cosplayer and YouTuber Lucy Myatt aka TorAthena, recently published her debut novella Peekaboo.
To celebrate the launch of her book, about a circus involving a sinister urban legend. Lucy held an event this past Friday at wine bar Vinea on Liverpool’s Albert Dock.
The event was fun filled, highly entertaining and packed full of eager fans, supporters and lovers of wine and a good time ready to purchase Lucy’s book and hear her read a chapter or 2, to whet their appetite and instil a fear of clowns.
Lucy was welcomed onto the stage via a round of applause as she stood upl to read the first chapter of her debut book. The chapter was highly entertaining and was a very strong start to the book, it left a lot of us eager to hear more.
Following the first chapter, the guests chattered amongst themselves for a short while, then it was time for some entertainment and audience participation. Games were played and competitions to win signed prints of the book’s artwork, which was done by Uncle Frank Productions’ Ilan Sheady.
The artwork was really gorgeous, yet frightening, certainly fitting with the tone of the book, it complimented the pages perfectly.
After the competitions, Lucy took the stage once again for a short reading, this time skipping a couple of chapters and reading out chapter 4 of Peekaboo, which was just as exciting as the opening chapter and well planned to convince people to purchase the book.
Once the second reading had ended, more competitions followed, this time a signed copy of the book was to be given away, that was a lot of fun to be a part of.
Photo opportunities and general greetings and congratulations to the star of the night were available as well as the chance to purchase Peekaboo.
Overall, it was a really fun evening, wine and olives were had, great company was present and it was really great to witness a very talented woman achieve one of her dreams – seeing her book published.
