Liverpool rap star Kof has spoken out about Liverpool hosting the MOBO’s and his hopes the awards will kick start a positive movement in the city’s urban music scene from the roots up.
Speaking to Purple Revolver, Kof said: “I’m happy the MOBO’s are coming to Liverpool.
“It should bring a lot of hope for Liverpool’s urban music scene and some much needed national attention.
“The MOBO’s are great – I used to watch them when I was a kid and always felt inspired.
“I hope it will have the same affect for aspiring rappers and artists in Liverpool today to get out there and get their music heard.”
Kof has been building up a national following after getting major airplay on Radio 1Xtra and is set to release his new single entitled Fire it Up on July 26.
The brand new track features London Grime chart-topper Wiley, who has been recording his new album at Purple Revolver HQ – Parr Street Studios.
