The 12 Play R&B don has cancelled his appearance on the Love Letter Cruise, which was scheduled for October.
The singer was due to take off on the five-day Caribbean jaunt next year and play two shows while onboard. However, he has now pulled out after a row with the cruise’s organiser over his fee.
A representative for the Trapped In The Closet singer said: “R Kelly had been looking forward to the cruise and was ready, willing and able to perform for fans. He is sorry for any disappointment but plans to see his fans very soon on a U.S. tour.”
Concerts Cruise has since emailed customers informing them of the cancellation and said they will “handle all applicable refunds at point of purchase.”
Tickets for the cruise tickets ranged in price from $999 (£645) to $2,999 (£1,930) with guests promised on-board entertainment that included gigs, salsa lessons and fashion shows.
R Kelly released his new album Write Me Back, his 11th album, earlier this Summer.
The singer is also working on his acclaimed ‘hip-hopera’ Trapped In The Closet, which he says he has written 32 new chapters for. He also said that he was looking for investors to help fund recording for the project.
