Purple Revolver are making an open call for horror fans to join their horde of zombies in a special flash mob this Hallowe’en and raise money for Alder Hey Childrens’ Hospital.

The Horn of the Dead flash mob will take place on Friday 30th October and we’re recruiting an army of flesh eating fanatics to take over the city centre.

Anyone wishing to take part will have their zombie make up created by a team of professionals, over seen by Hollywood SFX guru Shaune Harrison.

Wirral-born special effects legend Shaune Harrison will be interviewed in a special panel discussion at 92 Degrees Coffee Shop on Hardman Street and discuss his work on Hollywood blockbusters and upcoming projects.

Shaune has worked on Harry Potter’s Lord Voldemort, Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger as well as numerous characters in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Horror fans will also recognise his work in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, World War Z, The Mummy and The Fifth Element.

There will also be a zombie dance performance by world dance company Movema. You can still join in by buying a ticket for £5, which includes your zombie make up and the panel discussion with Shaune Harrison – with proceeds going to Alder Hey.

Places on the flash mob are limited, so people are being encouraged to buy tickets in advance via Skiddle:

Purple Revolver Creative Director Andy Johnson said: “We’re delighted to be bringing Shaune to Liverpool for this event and we’re looking forward to hearing his Hollywood stories.

“So many people are up for being zombies, it builds every time we do it. If you took place in the first one at FACT, you’ll know how crazy it can be.

“The crawl is so much fun, but places are limited, so if you fancy getting a kick arse zombie make over and scaring the living daylights out of people – sign up and join in the fun.

“Being dead isn’t the drag it used to be. Join our zombie horde and make history on Hope Street.”
