New event Prohibition at PanAm Bar is promising you a chance to relive the Roaring Twenties in all its illicit glory. Listen to live Jazz and dance the night away, performing classics such as the Lindy Hop and the Charleston. Hedge your bets at the casino whilst sipping themed cocktails and soak up the ambience of a bygone era.

The event is the brainchild of Liverpool John Moores’ graduate Rebecca Lewandowski, 21, offers a refreshing twist to the city’s social calendar through the launch of her new creative events business in her hometown of Liverpool.

Rebecca will be launching her new busniess Event Tank with the 1920s ‘Prohibition Night’ at the PanAm Bar and Restaurant at the Albert Dock on June 7.

Rebecca left university with a First Class Honours degree in Events Management where she, like many of her fellow graduates, was faced with the harsh reality of stepping onto the career ladder. She said: “I had a reality check when I left university.

“Positions were thin on the ground, competition was fierce and seasoned managers always appeared to be the safer bet to potential employers.”

Most would advise against developing a new business during this current economic downturn. However, Rebecca is confident that her experience and knowledge of the event industry will enable her to overcome the difficulties associated with the recession.

‘Working in the event industry has always been my dream and giving up was never an option. As Event Tank moves forward I’m realising that my dream is actually becoming a reality.’

After impressing a panel of judges with her business acumen, Rebecca was awarded a place on LJMU’s Entrepreneurship Fellowship Programme. A prestigious programme designed for recent graduates who are starting their own businesses.

The bright graduate showed promise, commenting, “The programme has been amazing for many reasons but, more than anything, it has opened my eyes to the world of business. It has given me direction as well as confidence in my potential; it has shown what I can achieve with my business Event Tank.”

Event Tank will deliver a creatively-led event planning service for corporate and private clients. In addition, it will produce a series of innovative and exciting themed events that will enhance the nightlife of Liverpool.
