Pride in British soul lioness Amy Winehouse as she shoots to the top

Soul diva Amy Winehouse is top of the charts once again, with her posthumous album reaching the number one slot.

More than four months after the singer’s death, a new collection of previously unreleased material and cover tracks has proven a hit with her army of fans.

Lioness: Hidden Treasures was produced by Amy’s former collaborators Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, and features original tracks and covers.

Proceeds from sales will be made to the Amy Winehouse Foundation – the charity set up by the star’s dad, Mitch Winehouse, to help young people.

Mitch spoke out about how moved he was listening to the album. On hearing the news that Amy’s posthumous album had reached number one, he took to Twitter to write:

‘Just been told. Amy at Number One… My heart is sad but bursting with pride. Mitch.’
