A gallery has announced an open call looking for homemade science fiction films to be part of a major contemporary exhibition.

FACT, in Liverpool, will hold Science Fiction: Myths of the Present Future to consider how our relationship with technology has blurred the lines between the real and the virtual; making our everyday lives feel increasingly like science fiction.

FACT is keen to see personal approaches and imaginations inspired by the broad genre of science fiction and has launched an open call for homemade movies by amateur filmmakers for inclusion in the exhibition.

The selected movies will be displayed alongside a series of new commissions and presentations from leading artists including Ryan Trecartin, Mark Leckey, Jon Rafman, Sascha Pohflepp, Larissa Sansour and James Bridle.

Award-winning science fiction author China Mieville will be producing new work exclusively for the exhibition.

The exhibition will take place between 27 March – 22 June 2014. Visit fact.co.uk/sciencefiction, download and complete a submission form to submit your film.
