This Sunday the Metro commuters of Madrid are set to leave their trousers at home as they take part in a ‘No Pants Subway Ride’.
This bizarre display of flesh has become an annual event that began in New York in 2002 and has since gone global.
The trouser-less participants must get on the Metro at different stops, acting completely normal, leaving other passengers to look on in shock.
This will be the second year that Spanish commuters have taken part in the event known locally as ‘Día sin Pantalones en el Metro’.
Event organisers have announced that they intend to avoid intervention from the authorities this year by banning offensive underwear such as “thongs or very tight briefs”.
The Spanish press caused confusion by reporting the date of the event as yesterday. However, the date has since been confirmed as this Sunday by a representative for the event on the official Facebook page.
