Purple Revolver took to their seats in the Malmaison’s Plum lounge and polished off Liverpool’s most stylish three-course Sunday lunch to a sublime future-garage soundtrack.
We enjoyed the roast beef and roast chicken with sides of seasonal baby carrots and green beans, cooked to perfection, topped off with gravy.
Our glasses were charged with the chocolatey Syrah, a warm and velvety mouth-feel, like a huge enveloping chocolate bar and the smooth, elegant Rioja recommended by our seasoned sommelier along with two sampler glasses of the Mal’s finest house wines.
The stylish soundtrack included Jessie Ware’s dulcet tones and complemented the food perfectly, making this the most stylish, sexy Sunday lunch in the city.
To kick off proceedings we sipped a Bajan Mojito special cocktail with Mount Gay rum and a sweet-sour Brazilian Apple Blossom cocktail.
We had super-food starters of Butternut Thai squash and warm smoked salmon and lentils.
The Roast beef and chicken were probably the best roasts in the world. The Yorkshire puddings were the perfect consistency of fluffy and crunchy.
Never one to be outdone by the main courses, we shared the Eton Mess and perennial favourite creme brûlée, which was bigger than your average ramekin was the perfect ending to top off an amazing Sunday Lunch with style.
If you’ve ever stayed over at the Mal washing your hands in the restroom brings nostalgia flooding back with the smell of the purple hand-soap.
There were a smattering of über-cool families soaking up the chilled, stylish atmosphere with young children in tow – who were seen but not heard – taking advantage of Liverpool’s trendiest Children Eat Free promotion in the plush, purple surroundings.
