Liverpool Music Week, the UK’s biggest indoor winter music festival kicks off it’s 8th instalment on 29th October and organisers are pleased to announce they have once again been nominated for Best UK Metropolitan Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2010.

The festival has been nominated for their 2009 edition, which saw the biggest line-up ever seen at a Liverpool live music event, with Kasabian, The Specials, Seasick Steve and Calvin Harris all playing the event. The Best UK Metropolitan Festival recognises the inner-city events that, and in previous years The Great Escape (Brighton) and Camden Crawl (London) have taken home the accolades.

Liverpool Music Week – the original multi venue Liverpool festival that combines an array of ticketed and free shows, introduces music lovers to some of the UK’s freshest artistes.

The free music agenda is an important part of the festivals blueprint, and 2009 saw their biggest free show agenda to date with artists such as Wild Beasts, Bombay Bicycle Club, Marina & the Diamonds and Two Door Cinema Club all playing for free.

Due to its continued dedicated support for emerging talent, Liverpool Music Week has also been nominated for BEST UK GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL and BEST FAMILY FESTIVAL at the esteemed annual awards.
