Three talented Liverpool based artists have been shortlisted for the chance to win a £2000 cash prize and the chance to present a solo show in Bluecoat’s Vide space in 2015 as part of Metal’s Liverpool Art Prize.
Art judges Paul Buchler, Francesco Manacorda and Simon Poulter were tasked with narrowing down all 53 painters, sculptors and photographers to just three.
The shortlisted artists were chosen because they captured unique aspects of Liverpool from the mayhem and excitement of match days to the celebration of peacefulness at Wallasey central park.
Curator of the Liverpool Art Prize Jenny Porter said:
“The Liverpool Art Prize continues to celebrate the talent and creativity of the city.”
Metal are also asking the public to pick their favourite artist, who will be awarded a £1000 cash prize in the peoples choice award.
Winners will be announced during May and June this year.
